What a journey you’ve been on, a journey of absolute bravery and selflessness and a journey that has shaped your life forever. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little more. We feel so honored that, hopefully one day, our paths may join and you will entrust us with the care of your little angel that you have so courageously brought into this world. This has been a difficult decision for you and what you seek now is a sense of peace with a deeply committed promise from a family that will forever love and nurture your baby, in the way that you already do, and help them flourish in life which is full of abundance. This is our commitment to you and we would be filled with the deepest gratitude, thankfulness and delight to join you on this magical journey.
Our story so far
We are Marie and Chloe, a British-American couple living in Europe. We met in 2015 when we were both living and working for charities in Cambodia, in South East Asia. We moved to Europe together shortly after to be closer to Chloe’s family who live in England. We married in 2021 in a lovely intimate ceremony in a building that dates back to the 1400s! Over the years together and all the adventures we have shared, also navigating the challenging times, our relationship has gone from strength to strength, where we grow together every day and help each other show up as the best versions of ourselves for each other and for those around us. We are so grateful for the loving, compassionate, kind and deeply respectful friendship which our marriage has been founded on. We make each other laugh so much! Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves that we found each other :) Now that we have our foundational base set, we are ready to welcome a little person into our loving family!
A bit more about Marie
Marie is a warm, friendly and compassionate soul, she lights up every room she walks into! She’s dedicated to her family and friends. And she is also dedicated to her remote-working job as a communications manager for a global humanitarian organization which focuses on saving and improving women and children's lives around the world. She loves going for long walks and hikes with our one-eyed rescue dog from Romania, Oshi, BBQ-ing in the backyard the Texan way at the weekends. She loves to do jigsaw puzzles, especially on a cosy winter night. Fun Fact: Marie loves anything miniature and is always the first to find us a miniature village to go look at every country we visit! She also loves the Eurovision song contest - if you don’t know about it, you need to!
A bit more about Chloe
Chloe is loving, curious, empathetic and thoughtful. She has an incredible depth and laughter to go with it. Her British sense of humor has Marie and their friends doubled over! She loves to be outdoors in nature, either taking pictures with her old film camera or going on bike rides. She loves to travel on trains and explore new places, try different foods and experience different cultures. She also loves to cook - her curries are so delicious! Chloe’s big passion for nature led her to do a PhD in environmental sustainability. She’s been fortunate to work for many international organizations around the world at the forefront of nature conservation over the past 15 years. Today she is a freelance consultant helping organizations become more sustainable and leaders to become more environmentally conscious. Fun facts: Chloe collects egg cups as she has a mild obsession for eating ‘eggs and legs’ for most breakfasts! She also speaks Spanish fluently as she lived and worked in Latin America for many years :)
Our world as one
We live in a small, beautiful, family-friendly town surrounded by forests and lakes and near to the beach. We have a cozy backyard where you can find Chloe potting her culinary herbs, Marie cooking up delicious BBQ delights and Oshi sunbathing! Our lovely leafy street has many families with kids who we see most summer evenings drawing pictures with chalk on the sidewalks (a tradition here!) and playing on their bikes. It’s like the 1980s all over again! We both come from big families who visit us often and stay for extended periods of time. We both work from home which makes home-life really nice and balanced! Thanks to working and living across the world, we are now blessed with a really supportive local, and global community of friends who are from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures!
Christmas is one of our favorite holidays and we love to dress up! Christmas pajamas are a must in the morning followed by some loud Christmas sweaters :) We take it in turns each year with our families in the US and in England, soaking up the wonder of the different traditions from English mince pies to the American sweet potato casserole with marshmallows! Thanksgiving has also become one of Chloe’s favorite holidays since being with Marie (Brits don’t celebrate this normally but Chloe now does :) and Marie now loves the British Boxing day on 26th December which is a British tradition that dates back to Queen Victoria times in the 1800s! We also celebrate Cinco de Mayo as this is the day we got together, so we usually cook up our special recipe for fish tacos! We look forward to sharing these traditions and making many more with your little one.
Why we are adopting
Adoption has always been our number one when it comes to growing our family. It resonates on so many levels that we feel deep in our hearts that this is exactly the right path for us. We couldn't be more ready to be parents! And alongside Oshi, our dog, we are so excited to be a full family and share our world with you and your little one and celebrate with such love and gratitude this incredibly beautiful journey that lies in front of us.
