Meet Emily and Fred

Our Story
Emily is from the United States. Fred is from El Salvador. We met in 2018 while working and started dating soon after. Emily loved Fred's warmth and relaxed nature; Fred loved Emily's capacity for joy and humor, even in difficult situations. While we are from different backgrounds and religions, we felt an immediate kinship. We married in 2023 and celebrated with our families at a beautiful lake in El Salvador.
Why We Want to Adopt
We have long desired to start a family, love a child unconditionally, show them the world and snuggle with them at night. We know that the decision to place your child for adoption is an incredibly hard one, and we hope we can ease your fears about your child's future. We promise that we will love your child to the moon and back, that they will be the center of our world, and that we will give them every opportunity possible to fulfill their dreams. Thank you for considering us.
Our Life and Lifestyle
Our lives: We live in a vibrant neighborhood in Latin America. Our house is filled with plants and we live close to parks, playgrounds and schools. At home, we talk in a mix of English and Spanish, and our large community of friends is bilingual. We often spend the weekends hanging out with friends and family. We love seeing art and listening to music of all kinds-salsa, blues, electronic, etc. Because we live in a bustling city, we enjoy going to the mountains and beach as a way to reconnect with nature.
We are both extremely close to our families, including a long list of siblings and cousins. Our families are multiracial and include two adopted children, which has given us a firsthand look at the beauty and complexities of forming deep bonds that aren't dependent on biological connection. We're also sensitive to the challenges and biases that adopted children might face, which has helped our family create an environment where they feel seen, supported and empowered. The Future

We have been together for ten years and married for six. Our first date took us cliff jumping over a waterfall, and we’ve been diving headfirst into life’s adventures from that moment on! We have been preparing for this moment for a long time and have approached this process with care and intention. Through countless hours of reading, classes, and talking to adoptive families, we’ve done all we can to prepare for this next step in our lives. Still, no amount of preparation will allow us to fully understand what you may be feeling as you read these words. We know this moment carries many emotions, and we deeply respect how challenging this process may be. If we are chosen to be part of your child’s life, we promise to honor your story and theirs. We promise to raise your child surrounded by love and unwavering support. Our home is one built on compassion and joy, and we would be deeply grateful to share it with your child. Growing up, our parents worked tirelessly to give us the kind of life they never had, and that’s exactly what we are going to do for our future children.

We deeply respect that you are thinking about your child’s future & your own future in a way that requires incredible strength, love, & resilience. We appreciate that you have hopes & dreams guiding your journey, just as we do, & we are humbled by your willingness to take this path as you help others fulfill their dream of becoming a parent. We have found that the most growth in life tends to come from experiences we never imagined or saw coming. These events have shaped us & have become a part of who we are. We hope you find all the support & care you need to feel genuinely encouraged along the way. We are so happy to provide a child with a loving place to call home. We have family & friends who have adopted or are adopted. Everyone is supportive & happy for us! We are committed & enthusiastic about being a consistent presence, adapting & supporting a child through every new phase in life & growing with them through one another’s lessons & mistakes along the way. We both value education & spiritual growth. It is important to us that they have opportunities to grow in these areas as well. We will encourage them to gain experience & knowledge in whatever holds their interest. We will want them to feel comfortable in their identity & who they are. We will not hesitate to make connections & offer them experiences that will help them explore in a stable, comfortable way & at their own pace. We value wisdom, compassion, critical thinking, humility, love, & the ability to balance that love with reason. We will encourage them to consider these things in whatever path they choose to take in life. We will also remind them it’s important to take time to laugh & appreciate everything they have. I (Kate) met Ed 16 years ago online. I messaged Ed when I realized his profile had more heart & humor than the rest. Within our first conversation, we both knew we found a match in mental energy, playful banter, loyalty, & affection. We both work from home & make coffee together in the morning. We have a home-cooked meal at night & talk about anything & everything.

We're Katie & Andrew and our dream is to become parents. We don’t currently have kids but have so much love to give, bedtime stories waiting to be read, and a cozy home shared with 3 warm and fuzzy fur babies. Oh, and all the snacks (so many snacks).
