Meet Pia & Ryan

Our Story
Dear Birth Parents,
Hi there! We’re Ryan and Pia, and we’re so grateful you’re taking the time to learn about us. The idea of welcoming a child into our lives through adoption means the world to us, and we hope our story gives you a sense of who we are. Whatever you decide, we wish you and your child all the happiness and peace. We’d love the chance to meet you and hear about your journey too.
We originally met in college, but it wasn’t until after graduation, when we spent more time together, that we really connected. There was just something special about each other that felt right-we were drawn to each other’s adventurous spirit, shared goofiness, and how everything seemed to feel more fun and meaningful when we were together. Dating felt natural, like an exciting new chapter, and we found ourselves bonding over our love for exploring new places, trying out unique coffee shops and restaurants, and cruising side by side on motorcycle rides.
It didn’t take long for us to know this was it. So, during one of our most memorable vacations, we got engaged, ready to make it official. A year and a half later, we said “I do” surrounded by our closest friends and family, in a celebration full of love and laughter. Since then, we’ve continued to embrace life together-whether through travel, local festivals, or taking on new challenges every year. And we cherish the little things just as much: early morning coffee dates, walks with our dog, or game nights with friends that leave us laughing for hours. Now, we’re ready and excited to share this love with a child, to open our hearts and home through the beautiful journey of adoption.
Our hobbies include staying active with just about anything outdoors, motorcycle riding, and exploring new places (especially for food and coffee). We also love game nights and spending time with our family and friends.
Together, we love to see and experience new places, people, and foods! We appreciate the beauty of world around us, and try to soak in as much as we can each year, whether it’s around our home or a far off destination. Most recently, we had the opportunity to spend time traveling Europe.
We both come from somewhat small families, but regardless of size they remain extremely important to us. We have many traditions that we look forward to each season. Many of them have been passed down from our parents and we are excited to share them with our future child.
Our home is a cozy two-story house nestled in the southwestern United States, surrounded by beautiful desert landscapes and green common areas with playgrounds. We have a large backyard with a firepit, perfect for making s’mores on cool evenings.
Our neighborhood is filled with families, with kids often playing outside, and we’re close to several schools, making it ideal for a growing family. Nearby, there’s an event center that hosts farmer’s markets and seasonal events throughout the year, bringing even more community activities and excitement to our area.
We have always dreamed of becoming parents and raising a child in a loving home. We are incredibly excited about adopting and have so much love to share as we expand our family. Please know that we will unconditionally love and cherish your child, and we will ensure they grow up feeling proud to be adopted. We hope this book has given you a glimpse into our lives, and we look forward to the possibility of meeting you. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Sincerely,
Ryan & Pia

Thank you! We are grateful you are taking the time to consider us! We deeply respect that you are thinking about your child’s future & your own future in a way that requires incredible strength, love, & resilience. We appreciate that you have hopes & dreams guiding your journey, just as we do, & we are humbled by your willingness to take this path as you help others fulfill their dream of becoming a parent. We have found that the most growth in life tends to come from experiences we never imagined or saw coming. These events have shaped us & have become a part of who we are. We hope you find all the support & care you need to feel genuinely encouraged along the way. We are so happy to provide a child with a loving place to call home. We have family & friends who have adopted or are adopted. Everyone is supportive & happy for us! We are committed & enthusiastic about being a consistent presence, adapting & supporting a child through every new phase in life & growing with them through one another’s lessons & mistakes along the way. We both value education & spiritual growth. It is important to us that they have opportunities to grow in these areas as well. We will encourage them to gain experience & knowledge in whatever holds their interest. We will want them to feel comfortable in their identity & who they are. We will not hesitate to make connections & offer them experiences that will help them explore in a stable, comfortable way & at their own pace. We value wisdom, compassion, critical thinking, humility, love, & the ability to balance that love with reason. We will encourage them to consider these things in whatever path they choose to take in life. We will also remind them it’s important to take time to laugh & appreciate everything they have. I (Kate) met Ed 16 years ago online. I messaged Ed when I realized his profile had more heart & humor than the rest. Within our first conversation, we both knew we found a match in mental energy, playful banter, loyalty, & affection. We both work from home & make coffee together in the morning. We have a home-cooked meal at night & talk about anything & everything. On the weekends, we like going to concerts, shows, & our local drive-in movie theater. We also enjoy relaxing with movie nights, playing board games, trying new restaurants, & picking fruit at our local orchard. We love to travel! We learn as much as we can, try new foods, & often go hiking & kayaking. We enjoy museums, along with exploring the hidden gems of every destination. We live in a home in the country. We moved in not long after we got married ten years ago. We enjoy eating dinner with our family, including nieces & nephew, once a week. We look forward to finding out what new family traditions a little one might inspire. We will enjoy finding out what activities light them up. If you choose us, we will always be truthful to your child & everyone we know about their journey & your love that has made it possible. We want to approach their story & your important part in it with all of our enthusiasm so they will feel genuinely uplifted by their life experiences & everything you have done for them. It will bring us deep happiness watching them grow & have new experiences! We will love spending time with them & encouraging them to lead a fulfilling life. We look forward to connecting with you, learning more about you, & hearing about your hopes & wishes. We are happy to send you updates & pictures if that is what you would like us to do. Warmly & Sincerely, Kate & Ed A little about each of us: Ed enjoys watching baseball, playing retro video games, reading, history, watching comedy shows, movies, travel, & coffee. He has always been a caring, hard-working guy who wants to lead a good life & will carry this attitude & his desire to build a solid foundation into starting a family. He makes the best of what life brings. His own experiences & lessons from those around him have taught him much, & he will bring all of his wisdom & empathy into fatherhood. Kate loves authentic conversations, story-telling, listening, cooking, taking walks in the woods, rollerblading, creative problem-solving, singing, & playing the occasional instrument. She has always enjoyed sharing music & creative activities with the children in her life & appreciates helping them to express & find their own creativity. She is beyond excited to become a parent.

Cameron and Sarah

We want you to know that we will love your baby beyond measure. Your choice of adoption is one of immense strength and generosity. Adoption is a familiar word in our family. Sarah was adopted by her parents and she understands both the challenges and triumphs of that experience from the child’s perspective. We would be excited and honored to give that same unconditional love to your baby. Our battle with secondary, unexplained infertility has been a message from God that adoption is our path to grow our family. Infertility has been hard, but getting to follow in Sarah’s parents’ footsteps is powerful. To share a little about us – Kennedy loves her friends and family. Her favorite things to do are being with her animals, riding horses, snowboarding, and playing music with her dad, Cameron. Cameron is an athlete and a musician. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to these things. Hearing the first note of any song, he can tell you who sings it, and what year it was released. Oh yeah-and he loves Jeopardy! Sarah has a great love for horses and has been riding since she was a young child. Snowboarding, water sports, and hiking were a staple of her childhood as well. We are a very active family that loves the outdoors. Traveling with our families happen several times a year. We are so blessed to have a life rich with family traditions and opportunities to explore the world together. Week nights are usually spent playing guitar, piano, singing and dancing together. Board games such as SKYJO, Guess Who, and Candy Land are some of Kennedy’s favorites. Catan, RummiKub, Heads Up and cribbage get broken out once Kennedy goes to sleep. That’s also when the newest Stand-up specials get turned on. We try our best to live a healthy lifestyle by cooking, baking, and gardening. We prepare and can healthy home-grown foods for the season and tend to our chickens (a favorite for Kennedy)! We are Christians. We encourage curiosity, and finding a moral compass that provides a happy and stable life for our family. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us. We deeply respect the care and thoughtfulness of your decision and are committed to honoring your trust by giving your child a life full of love, laughter and cherished memories. Our promise is to provide them with endless opportunities for growth and happiness. Once again, we are humbled by your courage and selflessness and thank you with all our hearts. Screenshot
