Dear Birth Parents,

It’s wonderful to meet you! We hope that this letter provides a better understanding of who we are, a little about our family and the love we have to offer. As we have come to understand, this process is difficult for so many reasons, but it is also beautiful for everything it offers. We want to thank you for the selfless decision to choose adoption and the sacrifice you are facing. We want to acknowledge how brave and courageous you are! Lastly, we understand the gravity of the decision you are making, and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your consideration.

Our names are Steve and Olivia. We met in 2016 through Olivia’s cousin who works with Steve. After 4 years of dating, we married in 2020 in an intimate ceremony with just our immediate families. We always say that the foundation of our relationship is based on humor. Like so many others, we have been faced with a lot of challenging and heartbreaking situations, but without our ability to make each other smile, we don’t know that we would have come out as strong as we are. Steve is funny, outgoing, smart, and compassionate.  He loves the outdoors! You can usually find him camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding or on his ATV. Steve graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in finance.  He has gone on to become an annuity and investment expert and helps people prepare for retirement. Olivia is loving, empathetic, compassionate, and thoughtful. She loves to read, crochet, run and hike. She loves to spend time with her nieces and nephews and finds her role as Auntie O to be her favorite thing! She graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in Apparel & Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration. Since graduating, Olivia has worked in the fashion industry and has recently changed jobs. She was with an apparel manufacturer for 12 years and now she works for an apparel trim and packaging supplier.

Before getting married we had always discussed wanting to adopt after having a few biological kids. Unfortunately, we have been doomed with the dreaded unexplained infertility. It’s a devastating blow and honestly one of the hardest things we’ve both been through. However, through our hardships, our relationship has only grown stronger, and this has only made our decision to adopt that much more important to us. Ever since Olivia was little, she knew the most important role and biggest dream she would have in her life was becoming a mother. We’ve come to understand that being a parent to a child isn’t about sharing the same genes, it’s about offering the same love and nurturing that we had growing up. Being raised in a happy and loving environment.  We understand the depth of the role of becoming parents and we promise to raise this child with love, laughter, empathy, security, and compassion.

Our dream for our adoptive child is for them to always feel a sense of belonging. We want them to be confident in who they are and where they came from. When telling them their adoption story, we promise to make sure they know that every decision was based solely on love for them. We want them to know their ancestry and background and we welcome any information that we can one day share with them. We want them to know that they are loved without measure, they are supported and happy, that we will keep them safe and sound. We will support them in all their dreams and passions.

Thank you again for your consideration! We are so excited to take this journey with you!
