About Us
We love visiting new countries, playing board games and hiking through the forest. We live in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. But we met in the Central-Asian country of Turkey when we were serving as Christian missionaries. On our first date we just had coffee and learned about each other, and then on our second date we found out we share a passion for adoption. We don’t have any children yet, but now we’re hopeful and excited to begin building our family through adoption.
Stephen was born in the U.S. and Maija was born in the Nordic-European country of Finland. Stephen is the oldest of five siblings. Many know him as a passionate teacher and bookworm. Maija is the middle sibling of three sisters. She is a loyal friend, likes to check off her to-do list and is dreaming of motherhood.
Stephen is attending Seminary part-time in order to serve in Christian ministry and runs a property management company full-time, while Maija is preparing to be a stay-at-home mom. Both of us are eagerly awaiting to welcome a child into our home!
Our Promise to You
If you choose the path of adoption and decide to place your child into our family we promise to love your child as our own, welcoming them into our family with open arms. We will do all that we can to provide a life full of opportunity so that they can grow up into a healthy and successful adult with a large family who will support them throughout their whole life.
According to your comfort and wishes, we will seek to include you in your child’s life after adoption, though we understand your desire for a relationship may change over time. We will raise your child to know the story of their adoption and do our best to help them understand that their birth parent made a decision out of love to place them in our family.
