Dear Birth Parent,
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I hope that by looking through this info and looking at my photos that you can feel like you know me. I would be extremely blessed and humbled to raise your child. I promise to support and cherish your child, and to raise your child to value diversity and inclusion of all. I promise to send photos and letters, and would warmly welcome more frequent contact. Most importantly, your child will be loved. I can’t imagine what it is like to be in your place. I think you are amazing and brave, and I pray for you, that you will be guided to your choice and you will have some sense of calm that you have chosen well.
My sense of adventure is one of the most important things to know about me!! I’ve served as a Peace Corps volunteer in a mountain village in Eastern Europe, I’ve volunteered teaching Iraqi refugees in Syria, I’ve hitchhiked all over Eastern Europe, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, and now I feel very blessed and lucky that I have a job I’m passionate about that brings me all around the world. I work for a U.S. embassy, which means I will be moving my family to a new country once every 3-4 years, which will always make for new adventures. I love to learn new cultures, new languages, and new foods. Everywhere I live, I learn to make 2-3 recipes so I can continue cooking and eating those amazing dishes. I’m so excited to share these adventures with a new child 🙂
My happy place is anywhere I’ve set up my tent. I love camping and I especially love backpacking when I carry all I need with me for up to 6 days at a time and get away from it all. I can’t wait to take a baby car camping, when they are still small, and hope they will be up to join me as they grow older on multi-day adventures in the back country.
Since I move around and travel a lot, it’s especially important to me to nurture my roots that keep me grounded. I treasure my family and friends. I’m especially close with my mom, and she can’t wait to meet her new (and first) grandchild!! I have one brother, who is excited to have a new niece or nephew, and my best friend Lilli is like a sister to me. We’ve known each other since kindergarten, and went on family vacations together when younger. I’m godmother to her daughter, Aya, and she’ll be godmother to my child as well. Maintaining my connection to my faith is also extremely important to me as well – I was raised in a Presbyterian church and became active in church leadership as an adult. Now that I am living abroad, I both go to local services when I can and maintain frequent contact with my church family at home – one of the silver linings for me personally of the pandemic is that I’ve been able to join virtual services (or “Zoom church” as I affectionally call it) and worship together.

Thank you for taking the time to read my adoption profile and getting to know a little about me. I’ve always wanted to be a mom, ever since I was little – it was never a question for me. I have clear memories of being 10 or so at church picnics and running around with the little ones. I babysat all though high school and even worked as a live-out nanny my senior year of college for two twins, who were 18 months at the time. Later, I worked at a day care center (with the 11-12 months olds) near my mom’s house after I finished my time in Peace Corps and I was saving up money to move to Syria and study Arabic. I have always envisioned myself as a mom, it was never a question for me. I have always been intrigued by adoption, I have always thought it was a really beautiful way to have a family. My best friend Lilli and I even talked about it as teenagers, that we might each adopt children when we were older. I’m so excited that I’m ready to be a mom, and to do so through adoption!!
