Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are so grateful that you are considering us to be a part of your baby’s life. We are all so eager to get to know you and to hopefully add another member to our family.
We have been married for 18 years and have two wonderful songs. We live in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of a big city. We are both professionals with jobs that we believe make a different in the world. We are proud of the way we are raising our children to be engaged members of their community. We value education and love adventure, and so our best to appreciate and celebrate all the blessings in our lives.
As happy as we are with our little place in the world, we all feel that there is room in our hearts for one more. The boys mention time and again that they would love a little sister to play with, and Hector and Laura have always wanted a daughter.

We met right after college. I was 22 and she was 21. We met in September; went on our first date in October; and I asked her to marry me in December. I knew I would never find anyone like her again, and I was right.
We have really grown up together. It’s amazing to think that we have almost reached the point where we’ve been together for longer than we were ever apart.
She is still everything she was when we met, and has become so much more. A strong leader, a caring mother, a great thinking. She makes me laugh and strive to be a better person every day. I know she will be a great mother and role model for a little girl, just as she has been for our boys.
What I Love About Hector (by Laura)
Hector has a big heart. He puts the people he loves first every day. Hector is very protective and ready to stand up for his kids. He calls his mother every week. On the fun side, Hector is adventurous. He is always game to visit a new city, listen to new music, or meet new people. He also takes education seriously, both his own and our kids’. Finally, Hector can always entertain me with an interesting news item or hilarious story.
The Best Big Brothers
The greatest blessing our lives, by far, are our two sons. They are as different as night and day, but they make a great team.
Julian is sweet, gentle, and considerate. He is a natural leader who makes friends easily. He loves Star Wars, plays piano, and is always curious about the world around him.
Asa is small but mighty. He is outgoing, adventurous, and hilarious. He’s sweet and kind, too, but much louder about it than his brother! He loves Fortnite, likes anything physical (he’s quite a dancer), and fills the room with his constant jokes and laughter.
Our Bigger Family
Your baby will not just have parents and brothers, she’ll have grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles who are eager to make her part of our giant family.
Our parents live in different parts of the country but we visit them as often as we can. They get along great, too, and we often vacation together. Hector has a big sister with a family and children of her own, and Laura has three siblings with their own families, too. All of us spend as much together as we can, and the kids are close to all their cousins.
We rescued our dog Luna from an animal shelter in Uganda when she was just a puppy. She is three years old now and a key part of our family.
A Family on the Go
Laura is a career diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service, focusing on economic development. Because of this, we live overseas. We are posted to American Embassies where Hector works as a communications specialist. Our jobs have taken us all over the world—Asia, Europe, Africa—and our boys are growing up as true global citizens. We feel so blessed to be able to give our kids the chance to see and experience so much.
Adoption and Us (and You)
We’ve talked about adopting from the beginning of our marriage. We have built a strong foundation for our family, and we still have a lot of love to give and experiences to share. We want to grow our family through adoption, and after all these years we have learned to trust our instincts.
Like you, we want what is best for your baby. We look forward to getting to know you and going on this journey together. We hope to build a relationship of love and respect with you so that she will know you and know her own story. Together we will make sure that she is loved and cared for, and that she will always have the support of her whole family.
