Dear Expectant Parent,
We are so excited about the possibility of becoming parents through adoption. We have always wanted a child to love as deeply as we were loved by our families growing up.
Thank you for reading our profile and considering us to be parents for your child. We know this must be one of the hardest decisions you will ever make. We wish you all our love and care as you decide what is best for you and your baby. We have faith in you and know you will make the choice that is right for you.
Jana is a human rights lawyer, lover of cheese, and devoted aunt. She loves exploring and sometimes travels to Africa, Europe, and Latin America for work, but she is just as happy at home with a good book or knitting on the couch next to Chris and their cat, Jasmine. Chris loves Jana’s empathy, commitment to justice, and taste for adventure.
Chris loves using his creativity to make useful things and putting his imagination to the test in artistic hobbies like painting, woodwork, bicycle repair - or anything, really. Chris is also an accomplished cook and loves trying to keep the house organized and clean. Chris has been practicing historic preservation architecture for over a decade, working on public schools and designing affordable housing. Jana loves Chris for his kindness, his emotional intelligence, his work ethic, and endless interest in learning.
Together, we like outdoor activities that allow us to pet animals and explore nature. We also appreciate cozying up at home and spending time with friends. We currently live in a quiet neighborhood of a vibrant and diverse city and are lucky to be close to excellent schools, cultural activities, and outdoor fun. The zoo is close enough that we can almost hear the lions roaring.
We also adore the children in our life. We knew early on in our relationship that we wanted to be parents and raise children together. Chris’ dad and Jana’s brother were both adopted as infants, so adoption is already an important part of our family story.
We are lucky to have strong relationships with our families. Family members on both sides are looking forward to being grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Many of our friends are parents and will be great resources for us. Our friends and families have said “we’re ideally suited to parenting” and would provide a warm, supportive, and loving home for a child. We promise to always give our very best effort, love and care for your baby.
