Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us! Our names are Sarah and Brian and while we are so excited to write you this letter, we can only imagine the emotions you are going through and we truly hope you are confident and supported in your decision to pursue adoption. We are eternally grateful you have chosen this path and hope you will consider us as potential adoptive parents for your child.
Brian and I met almost four years ago while living abroad. He will tell you it was love at first sight, but I needed a solid three weeks to know he’d forever be my favorite person. We were married within a year and life has been a fantastic adventure ever since.
We love spending time outdoors. Brian loves to run, surf and snowboard and I could hike forever! We love taking road-trips, making pancakes on Saturdays and watching classic 80s and 90s action movies while devouring popcorn and snuggling on the couch. We have so much fun together and laugh all the time. Both our families are wonderful (our moms talk all the time) and could not be more supportive or excited for us and our future.
We started trying to grow our family as soon as we got married but unfortunately ran into infertility issues almost immediately. We knew right away we wanted to pursue adoption and feel both excited and terrified writing this. It seems impossible to show you who we are in just a few paragraphs but we hope you can see through our pictures just how happy we are as a couple and what kind of family your child would be raised in.
When I was growing up, I remember asking my parents why they always hung out with each other. I mean, didn’t they have any other friends? And they would always say “Sweetheart, we have friends, good friends. But your dad/mom, is my best friend.” I never understood what that meant, until I met Brian! I never realized how lucky I was to grow up in such a strong home with such devoted parents. I hope Brian and I have the opportunity to pass on that kind of loving environment to our kids.
