Dear Birth Parent,
We admire your courage to consider adoption for your child and appreciate that you are considering us to be their adoptive parents. We promise we will love your baby unconditionally and strive to give them the best life and opportunities possible. We feel honored to be able to go through this experience with you.
We have been married for nearly two years and are excited about the opportunity to build our family. We both have always pictured children in our future and feel like we are ready-- well as ready as anyone can be--to welcome a child into our family through adoption. We are grateful for the role you play in this dream.
Our journey to adoption wasn’t so much a journey as a short walk. Sean has a genetic condition that makes having a biological child completely impossible. Despite this challenge, we both always knew that our future included children. We both believe life isn’t truly complete until it is experienced through the eyes of a child. We are excited and optimistic about the adventure of adoption and the places it will lead us.
A little about us; We first met in junior high, but it wasn’t until high school that we started talking on a regular basis. During high school we shared classes and went to Senior Homecoming and Sadie Hawkins together. After high school, we went our separate ways but reconnected almost eight years later and began dating in March 2018. We got engaged that September and celebrated the start of our lives together in a ceremony on May 4, 2019. It’s been a great, adventure-filled three years and we know the best is yet to come. We began growing our family in May 2019 when we adopted our cat, Cupcake. She’s a super cute calico, and while we can’t exactly tell if she’s excited about getting a sibling, she does enjoy spending time in the baby’s nursery.
Hard work and education are things we both value. Sean graduated from law school and works as a compliance analyst. Rachael graduated with a degree in Public Relations, but recently went back to school to earn her teaching license. She currently teaches middle school English. Both of us have held jobs since we were teenagers and believe in hard work. We hope to instill these same values in our children.
We work hard, but we also play hard. Sean enjoys going to and watching Utah Utes football games, cooking, animals, and working on our home. Rachael spends her free time reading and writing. Most evenings we’re either catching up on our latest binge show, playing a game, going for walks, or making frequent trips to the zoo. We also love traveling and are usually planning some sort of adventure. We have visited Disney World, Universal Studios, Disneyland, Lava Hot Springs, Flaming Gorge, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon since we’ve been together.
We know this isn’t an easy decision for you, but we know you will make the right choice for you and your baby. We wish you the best and hope you are able to achieve all of your goals and dreams, whatever they may be. We look forward to meeting you and building a relationship over the coming years.
