Dear friend,
For as long as we can remember, we have imagined being parents. We’ve had countless conversations and daydreams of the life we want as a family. Throughout our travels, we have picked up cute baby clothes and items for a nursery, envisioning our future family.
The journey that has led us here has often been hard, and we are certain that yours has not been any easier. We hope that you may find peace as you navigate this difficult path. The concept of adoption is complicated and emotional for everyone involved. We do not take it lightly. We believe that parenthood will be the most important thing that has ever happened in our lives and it is something we are both prepared to commit to with everything we have and are.
We know that you want what is best for your baby. We hope that after learning more about us, the important qualities you are looking for, you find in us.
John is from a small town in Virginia, where we often still spend extended holidays enjoying family and spending time on the water. Licia says about John, “I am so excited to see John as a dad. His adventurous, fun-loving spirit make those around him feel good and kids of all ages are drawn to him. He is patient, kind, and supportive- a grounding force in our family. I know he will foster our child’s interests and individual personality whatever that may end up being. He will put his family first, already does, and I am certain our child will feel as lucky to have him as a dad as I do to have him as my husband.”
Licia is from Colorado, where we enjoy white Christmases and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. John says about Licia, ““Licia has been planning to be a parent her entire life. She has been collecting children’s clothing since before we met. She has countless arts and crafts activities ready to create special moments with her future children. It only takes a moment of watching her teach to realize how great a parent Licia will be. Licia goes above and beyond to make every class she teaches a moment that her students will remember for the rest of their lives. Her patience, generosity, and kindness for other people’s children only reinforces my belief that she will make an amazing mom someday. I hope to see that day soon.”
We made our dreams of teaching internationally a reality five years ago. We now call a small beach community on the coast of Mexico home. It is an amazing place to raise children. Whenever we walk our dogs on the beach, we’re always surrounded by examples of wonderful families who place children at the center of their attention. We look forward to doing the same in the near future.
We can only imagine how difficult all of this must be for you. We can promise you that we will love your child unconditionally and will always put your child’s well being first and foremost in all that we do. We hope that you will be a part of his or her life and please know that they will grow always knowing where they came from. Our home, our families, our friends, and our hearts are ready.
