Dallas & Heidi

Hello!  Our names are Heidi and Dallas. We can’t tell you how happy, excited and honestly, nervous we are about this opportunity.  We have been married for 12 years and growing our family has been a goal and a dream from the start.  Life never goes quite the way you planned, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

There are many things that we enjoy doing and look forward to sharing with new members of our family. We both enjoy the outdoors.  This summer we have gone on many hikes and campouts with our dog. We also like to travel whenever possible.  We love playing and going on walks with our little schnauzer, Bruce.  Dallas chose the name Bruce before we even adopted our schnauzer, he wanted to name him after his favorite superhero, Batman.

We make it a priority to spend time together each day and go on dates often.  We enjoy going to musicals, plays and movies, especially the superhero movies.  We spend a lot of time at home doing puzzles and playing games and doing game nights with friends. Heidi grew up dancing and involved in cheerleading and drama club.  She still dances on a regular basis.  She has always talked about having a little dance partner because Dallas has two left feet.  She loves music and can sing the words to almost every song that comes on the radio since music is almost always playing in our home. Dallas likes to play basketball and golf and would love to have a little buddy to take out on the course.  He is a life-long Utah Jazz fan and loves to go to the games when he can.  He also needs someone to laugh at his terrible dad jokes, at least until they are old enough to realize how terrible they are.   Dallas has the guitar that his mother played for him when he was young and plans to share the joy of music with our kids.

We have spent a lot of time talking about how we will raise a child.  We are overcome with excitement when we think about the things we will get to teach, about passing on the values we feel important, and about sharing a lifetime of adventures as a new family.  Your child will be involved in every aspect of our lives.   We cannot wait to encourage creativity, faith, and individuality.  We will teach them the importance of having dreams and doing the hard work it takes to achieve those dreams.  We will teach them that there are always reasons to be happy, and joyful, and that being able to laugh and having a sense of humor will help when things don’t go the way they expect.

We can picture our family eating dinner together at the kitchen table, playing games in the yard, going on bike rides, and building pillow forts in the front room.  We can’t wait to open presents on Christmas morning, do homework at the kitchen table and bake cookies with grandma and grandpa.   Because of you these things will be possible.  Thank you for considering us to be a part of your family.
