Charu & Pravin

Dear Birth Parent,

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We wanted to express our admiration for the strength it takes to consider adoption. In 2019, we tragically experienced the death of our child, of 10 days old, due to complications. We realized then that there is so much in life we cannot control but that we can only do our best as parents to ensure our children have what they need to thrive.

We have chosen to build our family through adoption. We know it’s the right choice for us to grow our family and share our love. Your baby would have the sweetest older sister. We value honesty, hard work, and generosity and would teach our children to value these virtues as well. Education is extremely important to us and we will support your child to pursue their dreams. We want them to experience things in life through travels or other opportunities. While we do not subscribe to a specific religion, we are spiritual, and that faith has helped us through the difficult times.

We would love for your baby to share a connection with you and provide letters and photos. We would only praise your unselfish decision and try to explain the circumstances to the child as they grow older. As we all develop a comfort in the situation, we would like to have the child meet you if you are open to it. We think he or she should know the people who put their needs before everything.

We sincerely wish you the best in whatever choice you make- may you find only happiness and success in life!

About Us
We are currently a family of three living in a suburb of Washington, DC. We have a tight knit community around us including family, friends, and neighbors. We truly value cultural appreciation which is evident in our travels, our choice in food, and our friends. While we are both of Indian origin, our families come from very different parts of India with different languages, food, and traditions. We were both born and raised in different parts of the U.S. as well.
We love spending time as a family, keeping physically active, cooking, and traveling. We hope to see the whole world and eat everything along the way!

Our Daughter, Ria
Ria is a 4 year old ball of energy. She’s smart, affectionate, and kind. She loves to read, watch movies, go to swim class, and she’s a great traveler. She has been to many places already: Malaysia, India, the Cayman Islands, California, and Chicago just to name a few!

She has a great sense of humor and makes us laugh constantly. She is inquisitive and loves to solve problems.

We know she would make an excellent big sister because of how she treats her younger cousins and friends. She is always very considerate and encouraging to them. When she lost her little sister, she was confused but understanding. She is looking forward to having a little sibling but has made it clear that she won’t change diapers though she will give them a pacifier when they need it!

Things We Like to Do
If you didn’t pick up on this already- we LOVE to eat and travel. We try to cook at home most days and Ria likes to participate in the preparation of the food. We also like to take Ria out to places where she can play outside of the house like splash parks, museums, or gyms. We emphasize education at home by working with Ria on weekends with things like learning numbers, reading, and science experiments. We also like watching movies and sports together.

We try to take at least one international trip a year and several domestic trips to new places. We think it’s important to see other cultures and learn from them.

We have people over very regularly. People constantly comment on how comfortable our house is, so we tend to host a lot. Most weekends we have friends or family coming over or we are going to birthday parties or other social events.

We try to balance our lives so that we have time to ourselves. We occasionally have a date night where Ria goes to her grandparents house for a sleepover. We like to see friends regularly and we also make time for exercise, reading, and other things for self-care.

The Future
We are very excited about this next chapter in our lives. Despite our experience last year, we stay positive and believe the universe has a lot more in store for us. We are looking forward to seeing what comes!

Warm wishes,
Pravin, Charu, and Ria
