Brian & Lindsey

Hello,
We are Brian and Lindsey and we are a Christian family living our adventure by ministering in another country and experiencing friendships with people from all around the world. We can’t wait to share local waterfalls, sticky rice and a love for people of other cultures with a child who will have the joy of shared memories with an older brother! We are a family that loves God, people and each other fiercely. Because of the slower pace of life in Asia we get to spend a lot of quality time together and we make the most of it! We love to travel, hike, swim and be outdoors as much as possible and cannot wait to share all the fun experiences that make up our life with another child. Even though we live overseas for the time being, we are home in America often. We are so fortunate to experience the sights, sounds and friendships we have in Asia and still get to spend 8-10 weeks with our families in the States every year! We also stay in constant contact with our families by video chat several times a week. We are so excited to add to our family and share all the love we have with a new addition. Please know that you are in our prayers. Thank you for allowing us to share our vision of adoption and family.

About Lindsey: Lindsey loves to read, learn and travel. She was a teacher and librarian in America so education is important to her. She loves working with Carter, teaching him to read. She is always up for an adventure and can’t wait to share all our travels with another child. Lindsey loves spending time together as a family and coming up with fun activities and outings for Carter. She is ready to be the mom of two!

About Brian: Brian loves coffee, hiking and Mexcian food! He is a strong leader and an amazing husband and father. He is devoted to his family and loves his days off work when he can take Carter for a bike ride, swim or hike together. He started a non-profit a few years ago where helps Asian farmers grow better crops so they can sell them for more money. He is passionate about helping others and works hard at that every day.
About Carter (5yrs old): The one word to describe Carter is FUN! This boy is on the go all the time! He loves being outside, climbing trees and especially splashing in mud puddles during rainy season. This year Carter learned how to swim and ride a bike- he can’t wait to teach a new brother or sister all the things he can do! We are amazingly grateful for this bundle of energy in our lives.

Living Abroad: Raising kids overseas has so many advantages. Carter goes to a local preschool in the mornings, has friends of all different races and cultures, and can already speak some local language. We feel like giving him and our future child this view of the world and showing them how they can serve people is the best gift we can give as parents.
We have lived in SE Asia for 4 years. We have a great community of both local and foreign friends! The friends we have overseas really are our family and we have so much support from them. The people we spend the most time with come from all over the world- Laos, Thailand, Germany, Africa and Australia to name a few! Our friends here are so excited about our adoption and meeting our new little one!
Some things we love to do here: Visit all the beautiful waterfalls, go camping on Brian’s coffee farm, eat amazing and fresh tropical fruit, and spend a lot of time with our friends and community.

Our extended families: Almost all of our family lives in Texas so it is easy to see them all when we come home. We are very close to our parents and siblings. Lindsey’s parents live in Sugarland and so does her sister with her husband and kids. Brian’s parents live in Fort Worth and his sister and her husband live and serve in Cambodia. Carter loves to visit his grandparents and we really enjoy being in America during holidays so we can see everyone.

Adoption: We both have experiences with adoption within our close friend circle so when we got married, we knew it was something we were going to pursue. Because of moving internationally it took a little longer than we thought to get the process moving but we are now super excited to be on our way! We have spent the past few years educating ourselves about the aspects of adoption as much as we could and we are really looking forward to having some conversations with you about the future. We desire as open of a relationship as you feel comfortable with and we will work hard to maintain that.

We look forward to hearing from you!
