Dear Expectant Mother,
Hello!
It’s probably safe to say that this is the type of letter you never thought you would be reading. Honestly, we never imagined that we would be writing something like this either.
It’s hard to know where to begin. We want to be ourselves and paint a picture of what your child’s life might be like in our family.
Picking the family you will trust to raise your child is a huge decision and commitment, sort of like deciding the right person to marry. In an effort to help you make that decision, we would like to tell you about ourselves and what kind of family your child will be raised in.
We have 3 wonderful biological children but Amber had very difficult pregnancies and births, so we decided we were done having children.
However, in June of 2017, we began to have very strong feelings that we were supposed to adopt. We thought we were done having kids and this wasn’t part of the plan… However, we had both grown up with a desire to adopt and we have always been open-minded so knew that we needed to take these feelings seriously. We prayed so much to know if this was what we needed to do.
Someday we can tell you the whole story, but the short version is that one thing after another happened to help us know that this was absolutely what we were meant to do.
We quickly fell in love with the idea of bringing this new baby into our home. We loved the idea of who she would be, how she would become a part of our family and how incredibly loved she would be. She would be our daughter. She just was not going to be joining our family in the “traditional” way.
It may seem silly, but every day we spend without her is like holding our breath. When we think of all the exciting things we’ve had to look forward to in our lives, nothing compares to the anticipation we have to bring our daughter home. It has been hard to endure this waiting process, but we know it will someday be worth it. You are worth the wait, she is worth the wait.
We promise to do our best to honor her culture and be the best for her in every way possible, and if you are willing, we hope that you being a part of her life will be included in that.
We know that this process can be difficult and everyone copes with it in their own way. We want to do whatever we can to help you work through whatever you may experience. On behalf of our whole family, we cannot wait to meet you. We can’t wait to look you in the eyes and tell you how much we are grateful for you and how thankful we are that you are giving us the highest level of trust imaginable. We will not fail you. We will live our lives in a way that honors your choice and validates your trust. Thank you so much for taking the time to read what we had to say. We can’t wait to talk to you soon!
About our kids:
Logan is our oldest. He is very passionate about taking care of his brother and sister. He has a very big heart and cares deeply about those he loves. He loves spending time playing video games with everyone in the family. He is a builder and is constantly working on projects from box forts to complex paper airplanes.
Roxie is the “spitfire” of the family. She is very passionate in everything she gets involved in and gets hyper-focused on whatever she’s into. She loves to cook, make all kinds of projects and do crafts. She has a big personality and sassy attitude. She cannot WAIT to have a little sister.
Jax is our youngest and the most energetic. He loves to play outside, inside and everywhere in between. If his brother and sister are doing it, he wants to as well. He’s extremely kind and a little comedian. He loves to hum his favorite tunes. Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean are his favorite movies.

We have been married for 15 years and couldn’t imagine being better friends. Even though we’ve had our challenges, like any couple, we have turned them into learning experiences that have strengthened us. We believe that we are perfect for each other. We wish everyone could have a love like ours. We love to cuddle, play games together and just be near one another. Our favorite vacation spot as a couple is Hawaii and Disneyland as a family. We believe our children are unique in their wants and needs. Therefore, they each need to be taught and loved in their own special way. We will live every day of our lives to be the kind of parents that you are looking for and that your child deserves. This is our commitment to you.
