Dear Expectant Mom,
We are humbled and grateful you want to get to know our family as you consider adoption for your beloved child. We look forward to getting to know you as well and hope for the opportunity to encourage and support you during this time.
Our names are Andrew and Mary-Kathryn and we’ve been happily married for seven years. Andrew is a physician and Mary-Kathryn is a stay-at-home mom to our three-year-old daughter, Hannah. We also have two gentle Labradors, Brody and Findlay, who adore children.
The possibility of being adoptive parents to your precious child fills us with so much joy! We fully realize our family’s blessing of a new child flows from an extraordinary sacrifice on your part. We promise your child will always know of your deep, selfless love for them and that you gave your child the greatest gift of all: life itself. We will always be open with your child about their adoption story, speak of you lovingly and often, and celebrate all the wonderful traits and talents they inherited from you. We would be delighted to exchange email addresses and share updates and photographs of your child as frequently as you desire.
Andrew and Mary-Kathryn each had the blessing of growing up with several cousins who were adopted. Two of Mary-Kathryn’s cousins are also adoptive parents themselves, and Andrew has another cousin who placed a child for adoption at birth. Each of these family members continues to be a tremendous source of support and wisdom on our own journey to adoption. More importantly, your child will be welcomed with love by family who shares the experience of adoption.

About Andrew: Andrew is an Army veteran who is now a physician a teaching hospital. He loves his family above all else and is devoted to his medical practice, his patients, and the students he mentors. Andrew is an enthusiastic fisherman who patiently untangles Mary-Kathryn’s fishing lines from various trees (oops!) and baits Hannah’s hooks. He is a tender father and can’t wait to guide and teach more children.
Andrew is loyal and hard-working with an engaging personality. Andrew is an avid reader and history buff who loves to visit revolutionary and civil war battlefields and historical museums. Andrew’s friends and family would describe him as dependable, generous, and serious. He is a trustworthy friend and steadfast ally.
About Mary-Kathryn: Mary-Kathryn is a stay-at-home mom (the best job she’s ever had!) who loves spending her days with Hannah and cannot wait to nurture and care for more children. Mary-Kathryn joyfully creates a loving, inviting home filled with warmth, fun activities, and tasty meals! She leads our church’s moms’ group, planning weekly playdates and field trips for children and their moms.
Mary-Kathryn grew up swimming and playing piano. She enjoys playing tennis, board games, and puzzles. She can quote nearly every line from The Office. She loves to read and is involved with a few different book groups. Mary-Kathryn has a warm, upbeat personality and a generous heart. Her friends and family would say she is smart, thoughtful, genuine, and funny.
For fun we really love spending time together as a family and make the most of our time together! During the week, Mary-Kathryn takes Hannah to mommy and me swimming, gymnastics, and music classes, story time at the library, and various parks and playgrounds. On the weekends, we all enjoy visiting the zoo, the Children’s Museum, the nature center, and going hiking at state parks and in the mountains.
We love skiing and try to go every winter. We can’t wait to teach our kids to ski when they are old enough! We also really enjoy taking long weekend trips to different places, especially in the fall when the colors are beautiful, and the weather is perfect!
