Kathy Kunkel, who adopted 8 of her 10 children, founded Act of Love in 1993. Beginning in her home, the agency has since grown to become one of the nation’s leading adoption organizations.

Act of Love is known for their special treatment and attention they provide birth mothers and adoptive families. Birth parents are particularly happy with the loving care they receive. Adoptive families do not have to wait as long as many other agencies to find a new addition to their family.

A note from our founder:

Thank you so much for your interest in adoption. My name is Kathy Kunkel and there will always be a special place in my heart for birthparents. Adoption is a true Act of Love. It is through adoption that my family was made possible. My husband and I have been married for forty-five years. We have ten beautiful children; eight of whom are adopted and our ever-growing family tree includes many adopted grandchildren.

During the course of our adoptions, I had the opportunity to meet and form friendships with many birth parents. They were gracious enough to share their stories and to express what they wished had been available in an adoption agency when they needed help with their adoption plan. Birth parents need a comfortable, warm environment where there are people they can trust. Because of the love and understanding I feel for birth parents and the dedication in my heart for adoption, I founded an adoption agency wherein everyone always feels welcome and appreciated.

At our agency, birth parents and adoptive families are treated with the utmost respect. Each member of our team will “go the extra mile” to support you in your decision. Our team consists of birth parents, adoptive parents, adoptees, and professionals with extensive experience. We all love each other like family and welcome you with open arms.
