Dear Expectant Parent,
Hello! Our names are Lance and Celina. We are beyond excited to add a little one to our family and are so grateful you would consider us. We also want to thank you for your courage and your selfless heart for considering adoption. We love adventure and feel the most wonderful adventure of all would be this one of becoming parents. This would not be possible for us without incredible people like you. We have so much love to give and hope you can see a place for you and this baby in our family.
Hello! I am Celina, I was raised in a tiny town in middle Tennessee. I have 1 brother and 1 sister who live close by along with my parents. I joined the Navy right out of high school and now serve as a sailor in the reserves. I love to be active! I play any sport with a ball in it. I have a passion for traveling, going on adventures, and experiencing new cultures! And like a true sailor, I LOVE the water. I'm the practical one in our relationship, but I have big dreams. I'm very driven and I'm very social. I love people! Serving and protecting people is really important to me, it's something I have dedicated most of my professional life to.
Lance is my favorite person in the whole world. He lives his life with child-like wonder and laughter. Ordinary tasks become great adventures when I am with him. He loves life and reminds me how to have fun when I am feeling down. No matter where we go, Lance manages to make friends quickly and is always the favorite person in the room. He is wonderfully sensitive and has always supported my dreams and aspirations. He has a profound love of family. He would do anything to help his brothers and has embraced my parents and siblings as his own. He is without a doubt the favorite uncle to his 8 nieces and passes up no opportunity to play with them. I know he will make an incredible Dad.
Hi! I am Lance! I was born and raised in Utah. I'm the youngest of four boys, all of whom are married, have young kids, and live nearby. My parents are close by too! Currently, I work as a nurse in a pediatric intensive care unit in the city. Someday soon I plan to attend Graduate School to become a doctor. I love the outdoors, going on adventures, and learning new things, but unlike my wife, I don’t know how to handle a ball. I am the go-with-the-flow guy in our relationship and love to be spontaneous. I've always filled the role of a peacemaker in my family and try to make sure everyone is included. I LOVE being an uncle to my 8 nieces and I adore every minute I get with them!
Never before have I met someone so driven, talented, and yet grounded as Celina. I liked her because she had her head on her shoulders but knew how to have an adventure. She is the most motivated and capable person I have ever met. If she says she will do something, she will get it done. If she says she will be there, she will. She is also incredibly loyal. Because of these traits, people are very drawn to her and she befriends them very easily. She has her quirks, and even though she leaves crumbs in our bed every night, I would not be half the person I am today if she was not there to encourage and believe in me.
With all of our siblings, nieces, and parents close by, we are lucky to enjoy a lot of time with our big, beautiful family. We do a lot together. We go camping, spend days by the lake, watch football, and play games. They are a big support to us and can't wait to welcome in our little one when he/she arrives.
Our family is kind of unique because we have welcomed in many of our family members through adoption! We have 1 sister-in-law and 8 cousins who joined our family through adoption. We even have an Aunt who was a birthmother too. She chose adoption for her first child and we have loved being able to get to know him.
It is a very understanding community of kids and parents who share this story and can support each other! We love the diversity and perspective that adoption has brought to all our lives. We know that families come in all part of our child's life, and that includes you if that is something you want.
We don't know your circumstances, but since you are here reading this, we know you must be a sweet parent who is making an impossible decision because you love your child. Whatever pain you feel in this decision will not be in vain. This baby will be our first priority. We will love them like crazy! We will not be perfect parents, but we will do everything to make sure they have a happy childhood, a bright future, and the resources they need for whatever they decide to be in life. And we hope that you will have the peace and joy that comes from being a part of that too.
Lovingly,
Lance and Celina
