Sponsored by the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys help Chart a Course and Set an Agenda for the Future of Family Formation at the Marriott City Center, Salt Lake City, October 18-19, 2012

Beginning at noon on Thursday, October 18, 2012, the mid- year conference of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys is open to social workers, ART professionals, adoption attorneys, and other interested professionals in the field who are not Academy members. In addition to sharing ideas at general sessions, attendees will be able to network during meals, exhibit hall breaks and social events, and discover Salt Lake City from the centrally-located Marriott City Center hotel.

The agenda was created to address the interests of both Academy Fellows seeking CLE credit as well as professionals in all fields of
adoption and ART practice. An Academic Track and a Social Work Track has been scheduled to ensure that attorneys as well as adoption professionals benefit from the symposium.

Tentative sessions to include:
• Same-gender couples, adoption, and religious liberty
• Native American tribal rights vs. parental rights
• International adoption: Hague 5 years later
• Confronting broken adoptions
• Interstate issues & conflicts of law, including putative father registries
• Pre-natal abandonment
