Hannah had great plans for her life. She had recently finished school and was going to move away from home to go to college. This would be her first experience being on her own. She was excited and nervous and couldn’t wait to start this adventure!
Shortly after college classes started, Hannah met a guy. He was funny and nice and paid attention to everything about Hannah. They quickly started dating and spending every free moment together. Hannah thought this might be the guy she would marry.
Several months into their relationship, Hannah found out she was pregnant. As soon as she told her boyfriend, he denied that he could possibly be the father. He walked away and left Hannah on her own. She was scared to tell her parents about the pregnancy, but knew she needed their support.
Hannah told her parents that she was pregnant, and they immediately showed their love and support. They encouraged Hannah to look at all her options, including adoption. Hannah had a neighbor that suggested she call Act of Love Adoption Agency in Utah. Hannah made the call and immediately started meeting with an adoption counselor. Hannah felt peaceful that adoption was the best choice for her baby. She wanted both a mother and father to raise her child.
Hannah and her counselor were able to make contact with the birth father. He willingly signed the adoption paperwork from the adoption agency. The birth father consenting to the adoption put Hannah’s mind at ease. Hannah also looked through many, many adoptive family profiles. She prayed and pondered about the right family for her baby boy. She finally came across a profile and knew that this was the family.
Hannah started doing conference calls with the adoptive family. They even lived close enough to get together several times and even go to some doctor appointments with Hannah. They grew very close.
Hannah went into labor. She asked the adoptive family to be at the hospital. This was a wonderful time for Hannah to see the adoptive family so excited about having a baby come into their family. It helped Hannah through the emotional times.
Hannah signed her relinquishment paperwork, even though it was very difficult. She still knew that placing her baby with an adoptive family with the best decision she could make.
Hannah and the adoptive family regularly exchange pictures and letters and occasionally get together. Hannah is so grateful for the relationship she was able to establish with the wonderful adoptive family.
