After experiencing some life-threatening complications, my neighbors have been through the adoption process two times. Their first adoption went very smoothly through a church organization, and the second adoption was through Act of Love Adoption Agency in Utah.

As these friends were preparing for their second adoption, they knew they didn’t want to wait as long as they did the first time. They did their research, and talked to friends and neighbors who had also adopted. Then they talked to me. I do work for Act of Love, but I work with birth parents. I was able to put them in contact with a wonderful adoptive family caseworker who helped them prepare to adopt again.

As I watched this wonderful family look at several adoption situations, their excitement rubbed off on me, and I do this every day! They could hardly wait to welcome another baby into their family. I guess I should mention that they decided not to tell their families they were going to adopt again until they had a baby in their arms…..

Well, my friends called me to tell me a birth mother had chosen them, and she had just delivered that same morning. We were all so excited! As they drove to Arizona to pick up their baby boy, we decorated their home to welcome them back. They had a wonderful experience meeting the birth mother, and then stopping off at family member’s homes to show off their new baby. They made their way home to find excitement and joy welcoming them.

These neighbors have moved away, but we continue to keep in contact. They tell me that they still have a wonderful relationship with their birth mother in Arizona, and what a blessing adoption is in their lives!
