Receiving pictures of the Act of Love children is such a joy!! Watching these beautiful children grow, thrive and mature confirms each day what an awesome option adoption is! Choosing adoption as a birth parent or an adoptive family can bring amazing love and opportunity to children.

The full adoption services that Act of Love is able to provide to their clients provides time and resources to prepare for an adoption. Birth parents are offered counseling; pregnancy related assistance for housing, food and transportation, as well as medical and legal assistance. During counseling, birth parents are able to consider their options regarding their unborn child. One of the options that birth parents can consider is their preference for post-adoption contact with the adoptive family.

Post-adoption contact can be created to meet the birth parents needs as they are selecting their adoptive family, during the time prior to birth, at the hospital and following placement. Each part of the process can be designed to help the birth parents feel comfortable and at ease with their decision. Some birth parents want to select their adoptive family by seeing a portfolio from the adoptive family, interviewing them on the phone or through Skype or meeting them in person. By interviewing the adoptive family, the birth parent can select an adoptive family that gives them the peace of mind that their child is going to the right home. Beginning the matching process by speaking with the adoptive family helps start building a relationship that will last forever. This relationship can continue through pictures and letters, emails, Skype or visits. Other birth parents prefer to not have contact with the adoptive family or possibly just by selecting through a portfolio.

The adoptive family is offered full-services to help prepare them for their adoption. They will attend adoption preparation classes and work with a social worker to understand the adoption process. The services that are offered to adoptive families helps them work through each part of their decision to adopt and to have a wonderful home prepared for their child.
