Brandy placed a baby for adoption with Act of Love Adoption Agency in Utah when she was 16. Now, 15 years later, her own daughter, Sadie, was pregnant. They didn’t find out Sadie was pregnant until she was almost 7 months along. Brandy knew that adoption had been a very positive experience for her, but she never told Sadie she had placed a baby. Now, Sadie was struggling with her own decision. She wasn’t old enough to work, and had no way to support herself financially other than her mom. Her mom had a job where the hours varied. They were never sure if they would be able to pay their rent.

Placing the baby for adoption was a difficult decision for Sadie, because she was not sure that is what she wanted. Brandy called Act of Love Adoption Agency and asked for some information to be sent to Sadie. Brandy was able to talk with the wonderful staff about the adoption that she didn’t share with anyone. It felt so good for her to be able to talk about adoption and feel kindness and support.

The adoption information packet arrived in the mail. Brandy sat down with Sadie to look over it. Brandy felt like this was the right time to share her adoption story with Sadie. Sadie was surprised but very grateful that her mom knew the emotions she was experiencing. It made all the difference in Sadie’s decision. As Sadie and Brandy continued to talk to Act of Love Adoption Agency, they found that the family who adopted Brandy’s baby had a family member who was waiting to adopt. The agency talked to this family and they were immediately interested in Sadie!

The adoption process moved along for Sadie. She LOVED the adoptive family she chose, and both Brandy and Sadie were so excited that their children would both be raised in the same extended family. There was such a close connection.

Sadie had her baby girl and did all the legal paperwork. The baby went to the wonderful adoptive family. Both the adoptive family, and Sadie and Brandy are so grateful for the miracle of adoption. They continue to stay in contact through a blog created by the adoptive mom and pictures and letters they send through the adoption agency.
