Dear Birth Parent,
We are Monica and Eric and we are so grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us. We have great respect for your decision to choose an adoption plan for your baby. We admire your strength and compassion as you make this challenging decision. Your great love for your child is evident in your actions. This cannot be an easy time for you and we hope that you have support in this difficult moment. We admire your bravery and love in seeking what is best for the life inside of you. We promise you that we will love your child unconditionally each and every day. There will never be a day that goes by where we don’t tell your child what a precious gift they are and how much we love him or her. We pray that God will sustain and guide you during this difficult time. We cannot ever adequately express our gratitude for the gift of your child to our family.
We met in August 2001 at the school were we were both teaching. Several of the teachers at school were instrumental in bringing us together. From the first date, we just felt so comfortable together. Six months into dating, we got engaged on Christmas Eve. We were married on July 12, 2003 with all of our friends and family present. Through our ten years of marriage, we have grown together and developed a strong connection that will endure forever. After some trying efforts, we are looking forward to starting our family. We hope that we can bring your child love and wisdom and a terrific home.

He has an older sister, Diane, and two younger brothers, Keith and Adam. Adam passed away at age 16 in April 2000 of cancer. Though the loss of Adam was devastating to Eric’s family their love has sustained them and they are closer than ever. Eric has an undergraduate degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Education. He is a teacher in a local school district. As a musician, he plays with several local orchestras and he has also been invited to play with orchestras around the country. Eric loves sports particularly baseball. He also loves to read and he enjoys all kinds of music.
Monica is 39 years old and an only child. Her parents still live nearby where she grew up. Monica is five feet two inches tall with brown hair and green eyes. She is Irish and Italian descent. Monica is a sixth grade teacher at a private school near our home. She has a Bachelors of Arts in English and a Master’s degree in Education. She loves being a teacher. The kids are so much fun and she enjoys the creativity of planning lessons. Monica likes to do crafts with the kids too and she is always looking for projects to try with them.
Our Family & Community
This will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family so needless to say everyone is very excited about a new baby. Everyone in our family lives within fifteen minutes of each other. Your baby will grow up with loving grandparents and aunts and uncles. We are lucky because our families get along so well together. We celebrate holidays together and see each other often.
We purchased our home, which had belonged to Eric’s maternal grandparents, right after we were married. The house needed a lot of work and we had fun renovating and redecorating. The house is located in a pretty neighborhood with a cul de sac that is adjacent to a beautiful farm. Even though we are just a few minutes from the city limits, we are surrounded by fields. Horses and cows graze nearby and we have even spotted wild turkeys along with deer and foxes. Despite the country feel, we can be in the heart of the city in a half hour. We love the proximity to the city and the amenities it offers.
We have many hobbies, which include taking care of our dog, Casey. She loves going for long walks with us around the neighborhood and through the nearby park. We also enjoy going out to dinner and having people over to our house. Because we live close to the city, we often go to hear the orchestra play and we enjoy visiting museums. We both like to travel. Together we have traveled both internationally and around the U.S. We hope to travel with our children and introduce them to new cultures and places. We like to vacation at the beach about two hours away from where we live. It’s a quaint Victorian town with lovely beaches and homes. We can’t wait to share our passions with our child.
We are lucky to share a strong and committed relationship with each other. We care for and help each other, and we think we make a great team. We make many of our big decisions on long walks. We talk over problems from every angle and try to always make the best decisions we can. We share common goals and values, and we prioritize family life above all else.
Creating a family together is so important to us, and we are honored to be considered as the parents for your child. Please know that we will provide your child with a loving, safe and nurturing home. We will always strive to do our best to be good parents and to help your child grow in a supportive, loving family. We can’t wait to share our lives with a child. Our home is a place of love and laughter and we will make sure that your child enjoys many life enriching experiences that will allow him or her to become all that they want to be.
With much love and respect,
Monica & Eric
