Sammy and Paul were best friends. They married and had 2 children together. Then things became very difficult. Paul lost his job and they were facing eviction. At this same time, Sammy found out she was pregnant again. Sammy and Paul were not prepared for another baby in any way. They started talking to each other and doing some research, and they started seriously thinking about adoption. Sammy’s friend had recently placed a baby for adoption. That experience helped Sammy and Paul with their decision.
Sammy and Paul decided there was nothing left for them in their small southern town, so they took care of everything they needed to, then packed up their kids and drove to Utah where they started working with Act of Love Adoption Agency.
Sammy was able to quickly find a job while Paul cared for the children. The goal was for him to work and Sammy was going to start an in-home day care. With the help of the adoption agency, Sammy and Paul were able to find a wonderful adoptive family for their baby girl. They started talking with the family and establishing a relationship.
Sammy went into labor a few weeks early, and it happened to be just a few days before Thanksgiving. Sammy and Paul spent the time in the hospital with the adoptive family and the baby. They all bonded and felt like extended family.
The time came for Sammy and Paul to sign the legal documents. It was an emotional experience, but they knew it was best for their baby. Then they placed their baby girl into the arms and home of the adoptive family they had chosen.
Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. Sammy and Paul were so thankful for a wonderful adoptive family, and the adoptive family was so thankful for the precious gift they had received.
