Wayne & Ellen

DEAR BIRTH PARENT:

Hello, we are Wayne & Ellen and we thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. Thank you for considering your choices. We are so excited to be adopting and bringing a child into our family! We hope our story will help you in making your choice. Please know that no matter what you choose, we wish you and your child all the best. We hope this gives you a glimpse about our family. We look forward to meeting you.

WAYNE & ELLEN’S FAMILY

We have a blended family. Three kids are Ellen's children from a previous marriage; two are Wayne's from a previous marriage (one of whom is adult and moved-out of the home); and we have one baby girl together. Can you tell which are Ellen's and which are Wayne's? We also have blended races. Ellen is mostly Taiwanese and partly Polynesian, whereas Wayne is Caucasian. All our kids are Asian, mixed with Caucasian. We also had good experiences with foster children. We have so much love for all of our kids, but we are looking forward to growing our family by sharing our love through adoption.

WAYNE'S HOBBIES

Wayne loves sharing his hobbies (Utah Jazz, Utah Utes football, BYU football, movies, and rock and roll music) with the family, even when the kids make him limit the Dad jokes.

ELLEN'S HOBBIES

Ellen loves hula dancing, cooking, fishing, walks in parks, working out in the gym, gardening, making soap, and traveling. Ellen is tri-lingual (English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese). The kids especially love helping Mom cook.

EDUCATION & CAREERS

Wayne has three degrees (BA-Biology, MBA-Health Care Management, and BS-Medical Laboratory Science). Ellen has a Bachelor's degree in Food & Hospitality Management. Our primary business is real estate (Realtor and real estate investment). Our second business is owning a restaurant. Because we hire a full-time manager to operate the restaurant, we both have time to care for our growing family.

FAMILY TOGETHER TIME

We always prioritize the children's schoolwork, but we still know how to have a little fun. Our family hobbies include fishing, traveling, swimming, family movie night, attending theme parks/museums, and cooking.

ACE

Ace is our oldest child at home. He is entering high school and studying to get his driver’s license. Ace loves art, drawing, creative writing, and computer graphics. He is very creative and playful. He has an excellent sense of humor and loves playing harmless pranks and hanging out with his brothers.

RAYLEY

Rayley is the over-achiever in the family. She loves to challenge herself by taking advanced classes at school and earning good grades. In addition to being a great student, she loves soccer, theatre, baking, and watching television crime dramas. She always leaves time for hanging out or having parties with friends.

KIRBY

Kirby is the sweet one in the family. He's very obedient and honest--sometimes brutally honest. But he's also very sensitive to others' feelings and is a classic people-pleaser. Kirby is very active and loves soccer and is looking forward to learning to play brass instruments.

BYRON

Byron is the wild child in the family. He's so energetic and playful. He loves playing hide and seek with dad, playing basketball, taekwando, animals, Legos, and going to the park with mom. He can also relax and enjoy watching YouTube videos at home or play Minecraft on the computer.

HEIDI

Heidi is becoming a toddler. She loves playing peekaboo, swinging on our playset, and listening to daddy sing offkey songs. We love the idea of having an adopted baby and biological child growing up together so they always have a friend to play with.

ADVENTURES

From simple adventures such as riding bikes to extravagant vacations such as Taiwan, we love exploring new places and activities as a family. We visit parks, museums, tourist attractions, new cities, and new countries. We take boat rides, go swimming, and ride trains together.

TRADITIONS

Traditions, such as birthday celebrations, are very important to us. We love giving kids attention on their special day. We also celebrate all major holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

We have always dreamed about adopting and have so much love to share for this child as we expand our family. Our kids are likewise excited to have a new sibling. Please always know we will unconditionally love and cherish your child and we will make sure that he or she will be proud to be adopted.

We are open to nearly any post-adoption interaction that you prefer and with your permission, we would be happy to tell the child about you and your background. We know placing your child for adoption was one of the most difficult decisions in your life and we promise to make it a good decision.

Sincerely,

Wayne & Ellen
