Ryan and Michelle

Dear Expectant Parent,

We are Ryan & Michelle, and we will love your baby and help him or her achieve their dreams. We know that adoption is a tough choice to make, and choosing the right family for your baby makes it even harder. But you can do it! Here is our story… we can’t wait to hear yours.

Why Adoption

We grew up in large families and always expected to have many children. Five years ago, we even bought a large home, hoping to fill it with 6-8 kids. But we learned through 6 miscarriages that we can’t give birth to any more. After looking into different ways to grow our family, we discovered adoption and it has changed our lives forever.

Each child that comes into our home adds more love, laughter and excitement.

Right now, we have three girls (ages 11, 9, and 8) and two boys (ages 6 and 1). Our youngest son joined our family through open adoption. As the birth parent, we feel like it is your right to decide how much openness you want in the adoption.

Your baby will have five built-in playmates and two parents that will adore him or her! In fact, he or she will enjoy the center of attention during the first few years of his or her life. Everyone in our family loves taking care of babies, although not all share the same excitement for changing diapers.

Ryan

To support our growing family, Ryan works 8-5 as a family physician and spends his evenings and weekends with our family. His job provides money for food, a home, clothing, vacations and future education. Ryan is kind, gentle and loving to everyone.

He enjoys fixing the house, running and music, and he includes the kids in all these activities.

Michelle

Michelle is a stay-at-home mom, and runs a very organized home. While the children were young, she started teaching many life-skills in a fun way. The oldest kids can now cook a few different meals. The four oldest kids can do laundry and clean the house.

We all take turns learning and doing different jobs. Because the work is divided, Michelle can focus on the what matters the most – the kid(s) having a hard day (this person seems to changes everyday). She is always available for snuggles, playing, stories, books and songs.

Moving Around

Before we got married, we lived, studied and served in South America. We met in medical and graduate school and discovered we shared similar values, hobbies and goals. Right after marriage and graduation, Ryan served in the Air Force. We were stationed in the US and in Japan. In fact, two of our children were born overseas.

After completing our military commitment we settled in the eastern United States to be near grandparents and cousins. It is beautiful here with forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. We choose to live in a small town with quick access to schools, the library, local stores and the great outdoors. Our home has four bedrooms, two baths and lots of space for big Sunday dinners after church.

Home Life

Everyday life includes prayers, sit-down family meals, practicing instruments, chores, games, walking and reading. Our children go to safe schools and we’re preparing all of them for life after high school. The best part of the day is free time when the kids race outside climbing trees, biking, running, and digging in the dirt.

It’s exciting to get out of our regular routine, so we go on three family vacations a year.

We enjoy camping, hiking, and traveling to visit family and friends.

Excited to Meet You

We are so happy to be a family! We hope you choose us to love and take care of your baby. We will do our very best to give your baby opportunities to grow into his or her best self.
