Dear Expecting Parents,
We aren't yet parents, but we both come from large families and are eager to share our lives, home and love. We can't imagine the emotional journey you are on and thankful you are open to learning about us. We hope we will be able to fulfil your hopes and dreams for your baby and look forward to sharing their joys and growth with you over their lifetime.
We met in 2011 in Indonesia. Elena had just completed a year as a Fulbright Fellow and was captivated by Indonesia. Paul, who is French-Indonesian, grew up in Jakarta, was working in environmental protection and climbing volcanos on the weekends.
We quickly fell in love, happy to finally have met someone willing to do all our activities with. We jumped on planes nearly every weekend, hiked mountains, kayaked, explored cities, and visited family and friends around the world.
Over the last decade, we've built a strong foundation. We have a mutual intellectual respect and attraction and often balance each other out in personality and approach. We share interests, values and goals. But also maintain our independence and individual curiosities.
Elena is gregarious, athletic, creative, loyal and ambitious. Paul is "funny," thoughtful, curious, kind and intellectual. Paul enjoys playing and watching sports, reading about history and old things, and making puns and dad jokes. Elena loves anything outside and active, is known to always be organizing friends to try something new, and has a weak spot for churros, ice cream and tacos.
We live in a tropical, family-friendly and multi - cultural Asian city, where we’ve found our community and home. We live close to downtown, minutes from the beach and every day is a pool day.
We are both mission driven and have built our careers in sustainability. Elena is an entrepreneur, who works in tech and human rights. Paul works on innovative solutions to climate change.
Growing up in large, tight knit families led us to want to be parents and expand our family. Adoption has always seemed natural. We have a lot of love to give and are ready for our next adventure. We think we'll make a great team raising children.
