Brinton & Sara

Hello,
We haven't met you yet, but you've already impressed us. You haven't opted for the easy path, but the path that you feel is right for you.

We're overjoyed at the possibility of bringing a child into our family! We're very fortunate that our lives now make it possible to be devoted parents and offer a world of opportunities to a child. We want you to know that we're eager to give our time, energy, and love to your child, and to share this joy with you.
We won't pretend to know your feelings during this time, but what we do know is this: You're looking for a wonderful home and future for your child. We're looking to share our love and lives with a child. Maybe we're looking for each other.

How We Met
We met, as many people do, through work. Not so common: We met in Ghana, a small country on the west coast of Africa. (We'll explain a bit more about what we do in a sec.) Our relationship was purely professional at first, but then one day we ended up at the beach together with some mutual friends. Sara saw a new side of Brinton in a more social, relaxed atmosphere, and Brinton, well, Brinton enjoyed seeing Sara in a swim suit :).
Brinton was teaching himself to surf, and offered to lend Sara a board and give her a quick lesson. We started spending almost every weekend together surfing, and soon began dating officially. A little more than a year later, Brinton proposed at our favorite surf spot by writing "MARRY ME?" in the sand while Sara was out in the ocean. We got married surrounded by friends, family, and the natural beauty of the mountains outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Our Journey to Create a Family

We both have always wanted to have a family. We talked about adoption from the early stages of our relationship, knowing that having biological children might not be possible. After several unsuccessful attempts at fertility treatments, we're now focused solely on adoption. We're excited to become parents, and grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to add a child into our family.

Who We Are
We currently live in Egypt, just a short drive from the famous pyramids! We both work on international aid programs to help lift people out of poverty. Brinton is a U.S. diplomat and Sara is a private advisor. Living overseas, our daily life can be something of an adventure. Your child will grow up learning different languages and experiencing the richness of the world. As you can see from our photos, we love spending time outdoors! We look forward to introducing your child to some of our favorite activities, and to trying some new ones as a family.

FUN FACTS ABOUT SARA
 She learned to make homemade pasta from her Italian grandmothers
 She loves playing board games
 She is self-employed and works part-time from home
 She speaks four languages
Brinton says: My life is better in every way with Sara in it. She has become my partner in discovering new languages, cultures, and adventures. She brings order out of chaos and healthy meals out of my neglected refrigerator. I know she would make a wonderful adoptive mother to your child.

FUN FACTS ABOUT BRINTON
 He’s the oldest of five boys!
 He served In the Peace Corps in Chad, Africa
 He’s kayaked in 6 countries across 4 continents
 He loves cookies of all types. Really REALLY loves them
Sara says: Brinton gives the best hugs--he'll be there to celebrate when your child scores a goal or comfort after a scraped knee. He's curious and adventurous and is always finding fun new activities for us to try. I love to watch him being silly with his nieces, whether it's playing princess dress-up or lifting them high in the air, and I know he's excited to goof around as a dad.
Our Families

Family is very important to us, and although we live far away, we are back in the U.S. often. We travel to Utah and the East Coast several times a year to visit with our parents, brothers, and nieces. We also take full advantage of Skype and FaceTime to connect with friends and family on a regular basis. Your child would be a welcome and beloved addition to our families.
Our Home and Community

We live in a comfortable home in a beautiful tree-filled neighborhood close to the Nile River. With Egypt's warm, sunny weather, we enjoy eating outside on the patio all year long, and our yard is perfect for playing catch or running under the sprinkler.

We belong to a clubhouse for the American community that's just a few blocks away and has a pool, playground, tennis courts, and a game room for kids. They have lots of activities for families, from weekly movie nights on the lawn to special holiday events like breakfast with Santa.

Our Cats
We have two cats that are an important part of our family. Batman is a little shy around strangers at first, but very friendly once he gets to know you. You can usually find him keeping a close eye on the birds in our yard through the sliding glass doors. He likes to play fetch, just like a dog! Princess LOVES people and makes friends with everyone who comes to the house. You can usually find her sleeping on the couch.

Adoption is complicated and emotional for everyone involved, but holds the promise of a new life in the world and the challenges and rewards that come with it. You have already shown how much you love your child by choosing life. We look forward to sharing that love as your child grows up--to telling your child about you and the brave decision you made, and sharing photos and letters with you so that you remain involved in your child's life. We also understand if you'd prefer minimal contact, and will respect your privacy.

We know that you want what is best for your child, and we admire the courage you have shown. We wish you continued strength as you search for the right home for your child, and hope that the important qualities you are looking for, you find in us.
We enjoyed putting this profile together because it reminded us of all the wonderful people and experiences in our life. We hope to share them with your child in the future.

With Gratitude,

Sara and Brinton
